The synthesis of N,O-bis(diphenylphosphinyl) hydroxymethylaziridine (‘Di-Dpp’) (1) may be accomplished in ‘one-pot’ from 2-amino-1,3-dihydroxypropane. (1) Undergoes either single or double alkylation upon reaction with copper-modified Grignard reagents.
