In this review, the versatility of amino acid derived auxiliaries in asymmetric synthesis is discussed. Different reactions such as enolate reactions, Michael additions, nucleophilic additions to C=X bonds, cycloadditions, rearrangements, ortho lithiations, radical reactions, and reductions which were performed stereoselectively by using these chiral auxiliaries will be presented.
