A variety of N-heteroaromatic compounds were converted into their corresponding N-oxides with good yields and with high chemoselectivity in the presence of hydrogen peroxide as oxygen donor and a catalytic amount of Mn-porphyrin. The scope and limitation of this method are discussed.
