Peptides incorporating β-hydroxy-α,α-disubstituted-α-amino acids, (S)-α-methylserine ((S)-α-MeSer), (1R,2S)-1-amino-2-hydroxy-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid ((1R,2S)-Ahh), or (R)-α-benzyl-serine ((R)-α-BnSer), were efficiently synthesized using a novel O,N-migration.
