Einfache und kosmetisch perfekte Methode zur Deckung großer Schädeldachdefekte

Zusammenfassung:

Die Deckung größerer Knochendefekte an der Schädelkonvexität ist nicht nur eine kosmetische Herausforderung sondern auch medizinisch zum Schutz des Gehirns notwendig. Wir haben mit Hilfe preiswerter handelsüblicher Materialien eine einfache Methode entwickelt, um ein exaktes Duplikat des entfernten Knochenstücks herzustellen und eine kosmetisch perfekte Deckung großer Schädeldachdefekte durchzuführen. Zur Herstellung des Implantats muß das entfernte Knochenstück zur Verfügung stehen.

Summary:

Repair of large skull defects is indicated as well to improve cosmetic as to protect the brain. A simply and easy to use procedure for exact duplication of cranial bone flaps used in cranioplasty is described. The original bone flap must be available to produce the definitive prosthesis.
