4-Cyclohexyl-7-hydroxycoumarin (3) and 4-cyclohexyl-6-hydroxycoumarin (8) have been synthesized and used as key intermediates to prepare the potential antipsychotics 10 and 11 by coupling with a piperazine derivative.
