Individuelle ideale Bracketplatzierung mithilfe von computergestütztem virtuellen Setup und Roboter

Zusammenfassung

Die Schwierigkeit orthodontischer Therapien bei komplexen Fehlstellungen liegt einerseits in der Erarbeitung konkreter Behandlungsziele, andererseits im Erreichen theoretisch formulierter Zielvorstellungen. Da Abweichungen vom Ideal die Realität darstellen, ist das Erreichen einer idealen Okklusion trotz vorprogrammierter Apparatur aufgrund verschiedenster Variablen (mittelwertige Bracketsysteme, Bracketpositionierungsfehler, morphologische Zahnvariationen, Zahngrößendiskrepanzen etc.) häufig schwierig. Ein vor Behandlungsbeginn erstelltes diagnostisches Setup bedeutet einen erheblichen Gewinn an diagnostischer und therapeutischer Sicherheit. In Kombination mit der indirekten Klebetechnik und der hier vorgestellten hochpräzisen computerunterstützten Bracketpositionierung mittels Roboter rückt die Vision einer individuellen Straight-Wire-Apparatur mit gezieltem Finishing in greifbare Nähe. Ein Ausblick über die Nutzung der virtuellen Realität in der Orthodontie eröffnet neue interessante und nutzvolle Perspektiven.

Abstract

The difficulty of the orthodontic treatment of complex malalignment lies, on the one hand, in the determination of concrete goals of treatment, and on the other hand in the actual achievement of theoretically formulated goals. Deviations from the ideal are a part of reality. The achievement of ideal occlusion is rendered difficult by several different variables (bracket systems of poor or moderate quality, bracket positioning errors, morphological variations in teeth, discrepancies in tooth size etc.), in spite of carefully programmed apparatuses. A diagnostic set up created before the beginning of treatment signifies a substantial gain in terms of diagnostic and therapeutic safety. In combination with the indirect adhesion technique, the highly precise computer-assisted bracket positioning by means of robots as presented here makes the vision of an individual straight-wire apparatus with careful finishing a tangible and achievable goal. The application of virtual reality in orthodontics opens new, interesting and useful perspectives.
