Durch die Anwendung von Stickoxydul (N2O) können toxische Effekte über zwei Mechanismen ausgelöst werden: 1. Indirekt durch Stickoxide, die durch Verunreinigungen bei der Herstellung von N2O entstehen und 2. direkt durch die Inaktivierung von Coenzym B12.
