A New Fracture Model to Produce a Combined Soft Tissue- and Bone Trauma in Sheep

We developed a new trauma model to examinate the connection between trauma and laboratory findings as trauma response in an animal experiment. A transverse mechanism by impact force produced C2 and C3 fractures with I° open soft tissue injury in hind leg of sheep. Because there are no invasive preparations necessary the laboratory findings are only responsed to the trauma. Also the injury of bone and soft tissue is constant to examinate the operative treatment of defect fractures.
