Zur Situation der Eltern hörgeräteversorgter Kinder: II. Psychosozialer Betreuungsbedarf

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund: Die psychosoziale Belastung von Eltern schwerhöriger Kinder, die mit einem Hörgerät versorgt sind, bedingt einen Bedarf an psychosozialer Unterstützung der Eltern, der bisher noch nicht systematisch untersucht wurde. Fragestellung: Welcher psychosoziale Betreuungsbedarf lässt sich bei den Eltern von Kindern, die mit einem Hörgerät versorgt sind, anhand der Parameter psychosoziale Belastung und Motivation zur Teilnahme an psychosozialen Betreuungsangeboten abschätzen? Methode: Anhand des Fragebogens zum Betreuungsangebot und der SCL-90-R wurden Daten von 81 Müttern und 73 Vätern schwerhöriger Kinder erhoben. Ergebnisse: Im SCL-90-R lag bei 25 % der Mütter und bei 27 % der Väter eine erhöhte psychische Belastung vor. 57 % aller Eltern zeigten sich für die Teilnahme an psychosozialen Betreuungsangeboten sehr motiviert. Schlussfolgerungen: Anhand der erhobenen Daten kann bei 18 % der Eltern von einem psychosozialen Betreuungsbedarf ausgegangen werden, da diese Eltern sowohl psychisch belastet als auch hoch motiviert sind; zusätzlich sind 8 % der Eltern zwar belastet, aber nur wenig motiviert. Bei den übrigen Eltern besteht kein direkter Betreuungsbedarf, jedoch erscheint bemerkenswert, dass weitere 39 % der Eltern, obwohl sie keine erhöhte Belastung zeigen, dennoch für psychosoziale Betreuungsangebote sehr motiviert sind.

Abstract

Background: Psychosocial stress in the parents of hearing-impaired children with hearing aids gives rise to parental need for psychosocial support, which has not yet been systematically investigated. Aim of study: To assess the need for psychosocial support on the part of parents of children with hearing aids, based on the parameters of psychosocial stress and motivation to participate in psychosocial support offers? Methods: Utilizing the Questionnaire on Psychosocial Support, as well as the Symptom Checklist-90-R, data were gathered from 81 mothers and 73 fathers of hearing-impaired children. Results: The Symptom Checklist-90-R showed psychological stress in 25 % of the mothers and 27 % of the fathers. 57 % of all the parents indicated high motivation in favor of taking part in offers of psychosocial support. Conclusions: Based on the data obtained, 18 % of the parents can be considered to have a need for counseling as they are both psychologically stressed and highly motivated; an additional 8 % of the parents have low motivation although they are stressed. The rest of the parents need no immediate support; however, it is noteworthy that 39 % of the parents, while not evincing increased stress, show high motivation in favor of offers of psychosocial counseling.
