Abstract
A rare case of an angioma racemosum in the umbilical cord diagnosed by sonography at 28 weeks of gestation is presented. The fetus showed no obvious signs of abnormality and fetal arterial and venous Doppler measurements were within normal limits. The tumor was located at the placental end of the umbilical cord comprising an angiomatous nodule with shunting vessels in different size and type. Close fetal surveillance was maintained in the further course of the pregnancy. At 39 weeks of gestation IUGR was suspected and a healthy infant was delivered by caesarean section. The neonatal period was uneventful and at one and a half year of age the baby is doing well.
