ABSTRACT

Malignant and potentially malignant lesions of the anal margin are rare. A knowledge of anal margin anatomy aids in understanding pathology and treatment; however, additional standardization of terminology is needed. Wide local excision appears to be adequate treatment for most of these lesions. A few very large or extensive lesions may benefit from combination therapy or radical surgery.
