Abstract
Uterine artery embolisation represents a promising new method for treating uterine fibroids with few and minor complications. Serious complications after UAE are rarely observed. In most patients symptoms are improved and fibroid volume is reduced by approximately 50 - 80 %. We report° an infection of necrotic uterine fibroid after embolisation of uterine leiomyomata requiring hysterectomy.
