Conor P. Delaney, M.D., Ph.D. and Anthony J. Senagore, M.D., M.B.A.

For this timely issue of Clinics in Colon and Rectal Surgery, I am very pleased to have two coeditors, both of whom have had varied careers and are extremely knowledgeable and interested in advancing our knowledge of perioperative management.

Dr. Conor Delaney is a Staff Surgeon in the Departments of Colorectal Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH. Conor was born in Dublin, Ireland, and received his undergraduate and Master of Surgery degree at the University College Dublin. He subsequently obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Surgery at the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh and University College Dublin. His clinical fellowship in colorectal surgery was performed at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, OH.

Dr. Delaney is a reviewer for multiple journals including Diseases of the Colon and Rectum and the British Journal of Surgery. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and multiple book chapters on colorectal subjects. He is a member of multiple medical societies. Dr. Delaney maintains a very busy clinical practice with a major interest in laparoscopic colorectal techniques. He is an active researcher, but still finds time to educate medical students, surgical residents, and colorectal fellows.

Conor lives in Shaker Heights, OH, with his wife Clare and children Peter and Michelle. Away from work, Conor enjoys time with his family, tennis, and skiing.

Dr. Anthony Senagore is a Staff Surgeon in the Departments of Colorectal Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH. Tony was born in Grosse Pointe, MI, and received an M.D. degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI. His general surgery training was conducted at Michigan State University. He then performed a research and clinical fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Ferguson Clinic, Grand Rapids, MI. After completing his training, he joined the staff of the Ferguson Clinic. In 1999, he moved to the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Senagore is an active researcher in the field of colorectal surgery and has produced multiple contributions to our literature. He is an active member of several surgical societies and recently completed his term as Chairman of the American Society of Colorectal Surgery Socioeconomic Committee. He currently is the American College of Surgeons representative to the Practice Expense Subcommittee of the Relative Value Units Update Committee of the American Medical Association.

Dr. Senagore maintains a very busy clinical practice in which laparoscopic surgery plays a major role. He has also obtained Master of Science in Physiology and Master of Business Administration degrees. He educates medical students and surgical residents on a daily basis.

Tony and his wife, Patricia Kaman Senagore, M.D., live in Shaker Heights, OH, and have two children, Antonio and Christina. For recreation, Tony enjoys golf and relaxing on the beaches of West Michigan.
