Zusammenfassung
Das biopsychosoziale Modell hebt die Bedeutung von Ängsten und Überzeugungen der Patienten bei der Entwicklung chronischer Schmerzen hervor.
Die vorliegende Studie verfolgte die Fragen, warum Patienten falsche Vorstellungen über ihre Krankheit gewinnen und ob Physiotherapeuten eine mögliche Quelle irreführender Informationen sind.
Das Ergebnis zeigte, dass die beteiligten Physiotherapeuten zwar nicht eigentlich falsch informierten oder wenig dienliche Empfehlungen abgaben, aber die Ängste und Überzeugungen der Patienten potenziell ungünstig beeinflussten, indem sie nicht auf falsche Vorstellungen eingingen. Außerdem tendierten sie dazu, sich mehr auf Symptome als auf Aktivitäten zu konzentrieren, was sich im häufigen Gebrauch schmerzbezogener Formulierungen widerspiegelte.
Abstract
The biopychosocial model highlights the importance of the patients’ fear and beliefs for the development of chronic pain.
This study aimed to persue the questions of why patients gain false ideas about their complaint and whether physiotherapists are a possible source of misleading information.
The results showed that although the involved physiotherapists did not give false information or inappropriate advice they had a potential negative influence on the patients’ fears and beliefs as they did not react to incorrect ideas. Also they tended to concentrate more on symptoms than on activities which is reflected by the frequent use of pain related phrases and vocabulary.
