Abstract
Intestinal perforation, intussusception, and infarction constitute the major surgical complications in Henoch-Schönlein purpura. Early corticosteroid treatment for intestinal complications is recommended. Here the authors describe the case of a 13-year-old boy with Henoch-Schönlein purpura who had multiple and recurrent perforations that occurred under corticosteroid treatment.
