Vor dem Hintergrund der Suche nach effektiven Maßnahmen in der Prävention und Therapie von Krankheiten stellt sich die Frage nach der Gesundheitswirksamkeit von Maßnahmen der körperlich-sportlichen Aktivierung. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird der Forschungsstand zu den physischen und psychischen Gesundheitswirkungen von körperlich-sportlicher Aktivität vor dem Hintergrund der Anforderungen einer „evidence based medicine” zusammenfassend dargestellt sowie Perspektiven für weitergehende Forschungsanstrengungen aufgezeigt.
Against the background of actual strategies of prevention and rehabilitation, the relationship of exercise and health were analyzed from a perspective of evidenced based medicine. This review examines the nature of relationship between exercise, mental and physical health. Future research is needed to evaluate the numerous explanations and mechanisms that have been advanced to account for the relationships between exercise, mental and physical health variables.
