It is a great pleasure to inform you that Seminars in Vascular Medicine has been accepted for inclusion into Index Medicus and MEDLINE within 3 years of launching its very first issue, in 2001. The ranking the journal received was between 3.5 and 3.9, which qualifies Seminars as “very good” in terms of acceptance.

I personally would like to thank all of the Board Members, Senior Advisors, and Guest Editors, who have worked so sedulously with me to help define the publishing mission of this new forum in vascular medicine. In particular, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to my two Associate Editors, to each of our Guest Editors, and to Thieme Medical Publishers in New York for their efforts during the last 3 years and for their continuous support of this important undertaking. In our pursuit of the most exciting and purest editorial content, we all are committed to reaching, ensuring, and improving the journal's stylistic quality and content to such a high level that it really contributes to new developments and advancements in vascular medicine, and in the diagnosis and management of patients with vascular diseases. That goal can only be reached by joint effort and transparent collaboration, and with scientific friendship, unlimited sincerity, and purity of mind.
