ZUSAMMENFASSUNG

Zur Misteltherapie onkologischer Erkrankungen wurden 93 publizierte klinische Studien gefunden: 24 prospektiv vergleichende Studien, 38 Kohortenstudien und Fallserien und 31 retrospektiv vergleichende Studien. Sie zeigten meist einen Vorteil für die Misteltherapie (Überlebenszeit, Tumorremission, Lebensqualität, Verminderung von Nebenwirkungen konventioneller Therapien). Die Qualität der Studien lag jedoch häufig unter dem heute geforderten Standard. Dies kann teilweise verbessert werden, teilweise ist es jedoch Ausdruck grundlegender Probleme klinischer Studien.

SUMMARY

93 clinical studies on mistletoe cancer therapy were found: 24 prospective comparative studies, 38 cohort studies and case series, and 31 retrospective studies. In most cases, the studies showed an advantage for mistletoe therapy (survival time, tumor remission, quality of life, reduction of side effects of conventional treatments). Study quality often did not meet current standards. Improvement of study quality should be possible in the future; however, general problems of clinical studies offer basic impediments.
