Während Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit müssen Mutter und Kind eng kooperieren. Die emotionalen und energetischen Anforderungen an beide Interaktionspartner sind nur über eine beiderseitige zeitliche Koordination ihrer individuellen Bedürfnisse zu leisten. Kenntnisse über die Entwicklung der »inneren Uhr« und ihr Ansprechen auf Zeitgeberperiodizitäten aus der Umwelt, wie Licht und soziale Interaktion, liefern wertvolle Hinweise für den Umgang mit dem Kind und die Gestaltung der kindlichen Umgebung in der Klinik und zu Hause.
