Sutherland, the discoverer of primary respiration, understood work in this area to be an interpretation of Still’s principles. Primary respiration offers the practitioner significant possibilities for investigation and diagnosis and has enormous therapeutic potential.

Working with primary respiration requires among other things a sensitivity which a practitioner first must develop. Case reports describe in detail the aim of this treatment, namely the healing of the body’s own physiology.
