Zusammenfassung

Enterale Ernährung zu Hause ist eine sichere Ernährungsmethode mit geringer Rate an bedrohlichen Komplikationen. Die Zahl der ambulant behandelten Patienten wächst, exakte Zahlen fehlen leider. Das Konzept der langzeitenteralen Ernährung erfordert vom Arzt die Entscheidung über den adäquaten Zugang, die Diätauswahl, den Applikationsmodus und die Engmaschigkeit des Monitorings. Nur die sorgfältige Beachtung dieser Entscheidungen sowie die Kenntnis über die Prävention der Komplikationen garantiert dem Patienten einen optimalen Verlauf. Die Realität entspricht jedoch nicht in vielen Fällen dem formulierten Anspruch.

Summary

Home enteral nutrition has become a growing segment of the home care services, it has been shown to be an artificial nutrition with an acceptable low complication rate. The concept of home enteral nutrition requires decisions regarding enteral access, route of delivery, enteral formula and monitoring. Attention must be given to these decisions to prevent complications and to guarantee the best nutritional practice and outcome. For all participants in the setting of home care home enteral tube feeding offers a challenge to assure therapy appropriateness and adequate compliance.
