Die klinischen Prüfungen der Homöopathie[1]

Zusammenfassung

Aktuelle Arbeiten zur klinischen Geschichte der Homöopathie werden skizziert. Sie bieten einen systematischen Rückblick über prospektive, von 1821-1953 an Krankenhäusern durchgeführte klinische Studien wie über kontrollierte klinische Prüfungen von 1940-1998. Pragmatische klinische Prüfungen[2] stellten im 19. Jh. den Leitungsgremien von Krankenhäusern nützlichere Informationen bereit als explanative placebokontrollierte Studien. Die homöopathische Forschung unserer Tage sollte sich auf ähnliche, in der „realen Welt” angesiedelte Evaluationen konzentrieren.

Summary

Recent work in the clinical history of homeopathy is outlined. This includes a systematic review of prospective hospital-based clinical studies from 1821 to 1953, and a systematic review of controlled clinical trials, 1940 to 1998. In the 19th century, pragmatic trials provided more useful information for hospital administrations than placebo-controlled explanatory trials. It is time for current homeopathic research to focus on similar „real world” evaluations.
