Einleitung

Intraokularen Entzündungen im

Intraokulare Entzündungen haben bei Kindern eine schlechtere Prognose als bei Erwachsenen, Gründe dafür sind verzögerte Diagnose und hohe Morbidität.
Kindesalter kommt besondere Bedeutung zu, da sich Klinik, Diagnostik und Behandlung deutlich von Erkrankungen im Erwachsenenalter unterscheiden können. Hohe Morbidität und verzögerte Diagnose führen bei vielen Kindern zu einer schlechteren Prognose gegenüber intraokularen Entzündungen im späteren Lebensalter. Schwere funktionelle Schäden werden bei etwa 20 bis 30 % betroffener Augen angenommen. Rechtzeitiges Erkennen, Kenntnis der Differenzialdiagnosen und adäquate Behandlung sind Voraussetzungen, die Prognose zu verbessern. Die Betreuung sollte in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kinderarzt, gegebenenfalls Kinderrheumatologen erfolgen.
