Zusammenfassung
Hintergrund: Extranodale MALT-Lymphome sind langsam wachsende Tumoren der B-Zellen, die sich auch in der Orbita manifestieren können. Sie haben eine Assoziation zu Mucosa und epithelialen Strukturen. Patienten und Methoden: Acht Patienten mit orbitalen Tumoren, die sich bioptisch als MALT-Lymphome erwiesen, werden vorgestellt und die bildgebenden Möglichkeiten der Diagnostik dargestellt. Die Histopathologie/Immunhistochemie zeigt die typischen Charakteristika von MALT-Lymphomen auf. Ergebnisse: Weitere internistische Abklärungen wurden durchgeführt, sechs Patienten wurden anschließend bestrahlt, zwei lehnten wegen fehlender Beschwerden eine Behandlung ab. Schlussfolgerungen: MALT-Lymphome sollten bei orbitalen Tumoren mit in die Differentialdiagnose einbezogen werden. Ultraschall und MRI zeigen die Ausdehnung der Tumoren, welche strahlensensibel sind, dennoch ist die Exzision/Biopsie mit histologischer/immunhistologischer Untersuchung auch im Hinblick auf neue Therapien die Methode der Wahl.
Abstract
Background: Extranodal MALT lymphomas are slow growing tumors of B-cell origin which may be found in the orbit. They are associated with mucosa and epithelial structures. Patients and Methods: We present eight patients with biopsy confirmed orbital MALT Lymphomas. The diagnostic imaging techniques are described. Histopathological and immunohistological analysis showed typical findings of MALT lymphomas. Results: After staging six patients had radiation therapy. Two patients refused treatment due to lack of discomfort. Conclusions: MALT lymphomas should be considered in the differential diagnosis of orbital tumors. While ultrasonography and MRI are needed to determine the extension of these tumors, their identification requires excision or biopsy with histological/immunohistochemical analysis, especially in view of new treatment options.
