Zusammenfassung
Anhand zahlreicher historischer Quellen wird der Frage nachgegangen, welche Substanz Hahnemann als Petroleum geprüft hat und folglich auch als Ausgangssubstanz zur Herstellung des Arzneimittels benutzt werden sollte. Dabei werden mehrere eindeutige Abweichungen von Hahnemanns Vorschrift aufgefunden und kommentiert, von denen auch die heutige industrielle Herstellung und HAB 2 betroffen sind.

What kind of Petrol did Hahnemann use for his proving and therefore should be taken for producing the remedy? To solve this question many sources have been studied. Some important differences between Hahnemann's instructions and several pharmacopoeias could be found, even concerning the produc-tion at an industrial scale nowadays.
