Emerging Trends and Techniques in Male Aesthetic Surgery

ABSTRACT

Cosmetic surgery has witnessed explosive growth over the past few years, and with this has come growth in male aesthetic surgery. Increases have been seen in the number of nonsugical as well as surgical treatments. Rhinoplasty, hair transplantation, and blepharoplasty continue to be the most common surgical procedures. New trends include rapid growth in nonsurgical treatments, especially Botox Cosmetic^TM and microdermabrasion. New fillers have expanded the options for men, including long-lasting Restylane^TM and Radiesse^TM. Sculptra^TM offers a new option for correction of human immunodeficiency virus-associated lipoatrophy. Fractional photothermolysis and Thermage offer new options in resurfacing.
