Abstract
Callistemon lanceolatus leaves after extraction with a combination of organic solvents have afforded 3-methyltetradec-2-en-7-ol (1) and the rare C-methylated flavones: 5-hydroxy-7,4′-dimethoxy-6,8-dimethylflavone (2) and 5-hydroxy-7,4′-dimethoxy-6-methylflavone (3). Structures have been established by spectroscopic methods. Isolation of C-methylated flavones from C. lanceolatus supported the view that they are characteristic to Myrtaceae.
