Abstract

The known β-phenethylamine (1) and the new alkaloid 2-β-methyl-3-β-hydroxy-6-β-piperidinedodecanol (2) were isolated from the aerial parts of Prosopis alba. Both compounds showed DNA binding effects of 27 and 50%, respectively, at 0.50 mg/ml.
