Abstract
A new sesquiterpene - tayunin - has been isolated and purified from powdered leaves of Inula viscosa (L.) Ait. The chemical structure was determined by 1D and 2D NMR analysis, and IR and MS. Tayunin inhibits the growth of Microsporum canis at a concentration of 10 µg/ml and Trichophyton rubrum at 50 µg/ml(MIC).
