Abstract
102 Patients with severe head injuries were examined using computed tomography and psychological tests in the rehabilitation phase. Significant correlations were found between the psychological test results on the one hand and cortical atrophia demonstrated by computed tomography as well as the transverse diametre of the third ventricle on the other. The index of cella media and the contusions of differing localisation did not show any significant correlation with the psychologic test results. Professional re-integration could be most clearly placed in relation to the duration of disease, the intellectual capacity, and irreversible changes of personality; however, there was but little relation to the findings obtained via computerized tomography.
Zusammenfassung
102 patienten mit schwerem Schädelhirntrauma wurden in der Phase der Rehabilitation computertomographisch und testpsychologisch untersucht. Es bestanden signifikante Korrelationen zwischen den testpsychologischen Ergebnissen und der im CT dargestellten kortikalen Atrophie sowie dem Transversaldurchmesser des 3. Ventrikels; Cella-media- Index und Kontusionsherde unterschiedlicher Lokalisation zeigten keine signifikanten Korrelationen mit den testpsychologischen Ergebnissen. Die berufliche Wiedereingliederung ließ sich am deutlichsten mit der Krankheitsdauer, der intellektuellen Leistungsfähigkeit und den irreversiblen Persönlichkeitsveränderungen, jedoch nur in relativ geringem Maße mit den computertomographischen Befunden in Beziehung setzen.
