Summary
Significantly increased albuminuria and N-acetyl-β-glucosaminidase activity in serum and urine have been observed in acromegalic patients in comparison with healthy persons (P < 0.001). No relationship between these biochemical variables and serum growth hormone or insulin concentration was found in our group of patients. Significant correlation was determined between urinary NAG activity and albuminuria of acromegalic patients (r = 0.84).
