Abstract
This year's UEGW presents a variety of endoscopic, ultrasonic and clinical abstracts
on various topics. In the same issue of ENDOSCOPY, this year's DDW congress report
is included. Comparing the 397 abstracts allocated for publication in this journal
with those submitted to the DDW reveals that 23 % of the abstracts reported below
were also submitted to the DDW, and 14 % of all UEGW abstracts published in this issue
were accepted for oral or poster presentation in San Diego. Only in a very small minority
of these submitted/accepted abstracts were patient numbers substantially updated between
the DDW and the UEGW. Those abtracts already contained in the DDW congress report
are therefore not detailed here and only a very brief overview on the remaining UEGW
abstracts will be given in the following.
