In cases where the deep circumflex iliac artery and vein are of inadequate size, or when large composite flaps are required, vascular augmentation can be achieved using the iliac branches of the iliolumbar artery and vein as an additional pedicle. Routine inclusion of this additional pedicle in iliac crest flaps creates extra safety with a low effort. Full Text
