2. Kunststoffimplantate - vor allem im Gegensatz zu Knorpelmaterial - haben ganz allgemein in der Nasenplastik nur eine limitierte Anwendungsberechtigung.
3. Die Verwendung von Kunststoffen im Nasenseptum ist kontraindiziert.
4. Harte, rigide, unelastische und perforierte Implantate sollten im Nasenrücken nicht verwendet werden.
5. Die Implantation von netzförmigem Material (mesh) hat sich nicht bewährt.
6. Bei erheblich geschädigtem Spanlager mit starkem Narbenzug kann die Implantation von Kunststoff-Schwamm in einzelnen Fällen das Mittel der Wahl zur Korrektur eines Nasensattels sein.
7. Die Erfahrung lehrt den kritischen Operateur, dass es gelegentlich Befunde gibt, die (auch wegen Mangels an geeignetem Implantatmaterial) mit vertretbarer Aussicht auf Erfolg nicht verbessert werden können.

7. Experience teaches the critical surgeon that occasionally there are defects, which (also due to lack of suitable implant material) cannot be improved with a justifiable prospect of success.
