Summary
Numerous reports on embolization of parts of mechanical valves can be found in the literature (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). We report an unusual case of disconnection of the metallic tip of an aortic cannula during cardiopulmonary bypass. To our knowledge no similar complication has been described till now.
