Summary
Binding of glucagon to and its degradation by human mononuclear leucocytes and erythrocytes was investigated. Labeled glucagon binds to these cells, but can only be displaced by unlabeled glucagon at pharmacologically high concentrations. It is concluded that glucagon binding to human blood cells does not represent receptors of physiological importance and is of no value for the determination of glucagon sensitivity in man.
