Summary

In 1931, Abrikossoff described a tumor, usually benign, which only rarely appears in the esophagus. In a 30-year-old man, we found an 8 mm tumor in the distal esophagus; it was removed surgically. We discoverd 30 similar cases in the literature. Characteristics and treatment are discussed.
