Abstract
The frequency of sister chromatid exchanges (SCE) in the peripheral blood lymphocytes of eighteen healthy old women with 88 style Taichiquan exercise was studied. When compared with eighteen old women without exercise, the training group showed a decreased frequency of SCE in cultured peripheral blood lymphocytes at resting conditions. It is assumed that long term Taichiquan exercise provokes beneficial effects on lymphocytic chromosomes in the elderly.
