Introduction
Interrupted aortic arch (IAA) in the adult population is an extremely rare condition. It is more commonly diagnosed during the newborn period and comprises 1.5 % of critical congenital heart disorders [[1]]. The natural course of the disease is highly unfavourable. If it is not treated during the newborn period, 90 % of patients are lost within the first week [[1], [2]].
Surgical intervention is extremely complex in adults due to higher mortality and morbidity rates. In this case report, we present a 35-year-old male patient with Type A interrupted aortic arch (IAA) and discuss the successful surgical treatment.
