Introduction
A large number of abstracts on the subject of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) were presented at Digestive Disease Week 2007, and it would be a difficult task to review each and every abstract in this article. However, in making a selection I have highlighted a number of abstracts that have explored new, emerging, or controversial issues. I have also selected other abstracts based on these, following a common theme, because it is not uncommon for interesting and brilliant ideas to occur at the same time to independent and unconnected groups of scientists and researchers.
