Abstract

Silene alba cell suspensions were supplied with papaverine hydrochloride. Seven biotransformation compounds were obtained of which four were alkaloidal. The two most important compounds are regioselective demethylation products: 6-monodemethylpapaverine and 4′-monodemethylpapaverine.
