Abstract

The chloroform extract of Zizyphi Fructus had inhibitory activity against insoluble glucan formation by glucosyltransferase from the cariogenic bacterium Streptococcus mutans. The active substances were isolated from the plant and the chemical structures were elucidated to be oleanolic acid and ursolic acid.
