Abstract

The known sesquiterpene lactones canin, 1, artecanin, 2, hydroxyachillin, 3, hanfillin, 4, and the new ones macrotanacin, 5, and tanaphillin, 6, were isolated from Tanacetum macrophillum L.; of them, compounds 1, 2, 3 and 5 - from the leaves, and 2, 4 and 6 - from the flowers. The lactone 6 is one of the first known 1,10-seco-guaianolides.
