Abstract
An antileukemic quassinoid simalikalactone D (17) and two anticancer phenolic compounds, emodin and tricin, were isolated from the wood of Simaba multiflora (Simaroubaceae) as well as 8-hydroxycanthin-6-one (18) and coumarin. The constituents of the genus Simaba are reviewed.
