Abstract
The substance (Sb-1), which inhibits lipid peroxide formation (in vitro experiments), and various flavonoids (wogonin, oroxylin A, chrysin, skullcapflavone II, baicalein and baicalin) were obtained from roots of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi. On the basis of analytical and physical data, the structure of Sb-1 was proved to be 2′,5,5′, 7-tetrahydroxy-6′,8-dimethoxy-flavone.
