Abstract

Three new cycloartane-type triterpene arabinosides, podocarpasides H - J (1 - 3) were isolated from the roots of Actaea podocarpa (Ranunculaceae). Their structures were determined by spectroscopic and chemical methods. The isolates were tested for cytotoxic, estrogenic, antioxidant, and anticomplement activities. They were found inactive in the tested assays, except for podocarpaside I (2), which showed moderate anticomplement activity with an IC50 value of 250 μM.
