ABSTRACT
Nonimmune hydrops fetalis diagnosed at 21 weeks' gestation with profound ascites, hydrothorax, and pericardial effusion receded gradually with regression of a subchorial placental lucencies immediately below the umbilical cord insertion. Careful inspection of the delivered placenta revealed that there was a yellowish lesion of fibrin deposits below the cord insertion site, which resulted from the absorption of hematoma. A subchorial placental hematoma, which detected as a subchorial placental lucencies by ultrasonography, can be a cause of reversible nonimmune hydrops fetalis.
