Cornu cutaneum

Zusammenfassung

Das Cornu cutaneum ist ein selten vorkommender, klinisch definierter Befund, der bei verschiedenen Dermatosen als morphologische Variation beobachtet werden kann. Die Palette der zugrunde liegenden Erkrankungen umfasst benigne, prämaligne und maligne Dermatosen, ohne dass die klinischen Kriterien des Cornu cutaneum Rückschlüsse auf die im Einzelfall vorliegende Diagnose zulassen. Folgerichtig kann die diagnostische Einordnung eines Cornu cutaneum nur auf der Grundlage histopathologischer Untersuchungen erfolgen. Neben den typischen klinischen Befunden des Cornu cutaneum werden in der vorliegenden Arbeit die zugrunde liegenden Dermatosen, deren Häufigkeiten und die in der Literatur unterschiedlich bewerteten Möglichkeiten des operativen Vorgehens besprochen.

Abstract

The cornu cutaneum is a rarely occurring, clinically defined finding, which can be observed in different skin diseases as morphological variation. The possible illnesses cover benign, semimalignant and malignant skin diseases. Nevertheless, the clinical criteria of the cornu cutaneum permit no conclusions to the diagnosis of individual cases. Logically, the diagnostic classification of a cornu cutaneum can take place only on the basis of histopathologic investigations. Apart from the typical clinical findings of the cornu cutaneum the associated skin disease, the frequency and the possibility for surgical procedures recommended controversly in the literature, are discussed in this paper.
