Do we need to embrace adenoma detection rate as the main quality control parameter during colonoscopy?

Recent US guidelines state that, at screening colonoscopy in individuals above 50 years of age, adenoma detection rates must be higher than 25 % in men and 15 % in women [1]. Should European gastroenterologists embrace the adenoma detection rates of the US gastroenterologists as the main quality control parameter during colonoscopy?
